In a shocking turn of events, Vince McMahon has been reportedly furious over the past two weeks due to various issues within WWE.
These include wrestlers voicing their displeasure against the company, declining live ratings, and most notably, a backstage confrontation with his son-in-law, Triple H.
Sources indicate that Triple H, also known as Hunter, overstepped his boundaries backstage over the weekend, leading to a heated scuffle with Vince McMahon. This altercation has caused significant tension between the two, with reports suggesting that Vince and Hunter are no longer communicating as they used to.
The discord began when Triple H confronted Vince about the declining quality of WWE’s product and sinking ratings. According to Slice Wrestling, Vince did not take kindly to Triple H’s criticisms and demands for changes, which Hunter believed would benefit WWE as a whole. One source mentioned that Vince sees Triple H’s actions as an overstep of his authority, influenced by the constant pressure from fans and the wrestling community for Triple H to take over WWE.
Vince reportedly believes that the pressure has gone to Hunter’s head, prompting him to try and take charge of the main roster shows, Raw and Smackdown Live, which have primarily been Vince’s responsibility. Despite the company’s current low point, Vince is clearly not ready to pass the reins or the torch to Triple H just yet.
The general consensus backstage is that Vince has become nearly unapproachable due to the stress he’s under. Some WWE executives believe this was poor timing on Triple H’s part to confront Vince, who is known to be very stubborn about how to run the company.
Fortunately, the scuffle between Vince and Triple H was broken up before it could escalate. However, it seems that Triple H has not been involved in main roster booking decisions since the incident, except for a promo with Randy Orton on last night’s Raw, which Vince left up to him.
With all this being said, do you guys believe that Triple H overstepped his power by trying to tell Vince McMahon how to run Raw and Smackdown Live from a creative standpoint? Or is Vince in the wrong for taking the constructive criticism poorly and being extremely stubborn as usual?
