1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Press one can of crescent dough into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch pan, stretching to the edges.
3. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
4. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crescent dough layer.
5. Unroll the second can of dough, and place it over the cream cheese layer.
6. Brush the melted butter over the top dough layer.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crescent dough has puffed and turned golden brown.
8. Allow to cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
9. Before serving, dust with confectioners’ sugar and drizzle with a mixture of confectioners’ sugar and milk for a thin glaze if desired.
10. Cut into bars and serve chilled.
