“Last chance” – Randy Orton gets candid on a potential match against a major WWE name

Randy Orton has almost accomplished it all in WWE and The Viper is trying to reach a new record in the company as he goes head-to-head against Gunther.

Meanwhile, The Apex Predator weighed in on a potential match against John Cena in 2025.

Randy Orton and John Cena have been at loggerheads throughout their illustrious careers in the Stamford-based promotion.

Apart from their countless classics, the two have become industry veterans and Cena is set to go full-time for the last time in 2025.

In an interview with Daily Mail UK, the 14-time World Champion commented on a potential match with The Leader of Cenation in the coming year. He stated he has full faith in Triple H and the writing team. However, he won’t personally ask for the match but would be happy if it happens.

“And the way that Triple H is doing it, he’s listening to the crowd. He knows where everything needs to end up. He can tell week to week where it’s going in it. And if the fans want John Cena and Randy Orton to face each other at some point, maybe even at WrestleMania, then this is their last chance,” Orton said.

He added:

“But as far as what do I personally want? I would love to wrestle John. But as far as pushing for that match, that’s never been my style, that’s never been seen as my style. And I think if it’s meant to be, if it’s in the stars, then we’ll definitely do it, and we’ll have a lot of fun doing so well. I want it, so I’ll get it started for you, don’t worry about that,” Orton said. [H/T – Daily Mail UK]

When was the last time Randy Orton faced John Cena in WWE?

In 2016, John Cena and Randy Orton walked different paths in their respective WWE careers as Cena was transitioning out of wrestling on a full-time basis. Meanwhile, Orton feuded with Bray Wyatt and joined The Wyatt Family.

However, the two stars crossed paths in 2017 when Randy Orton won the Men’s Royal Rumble match and John Cena won his 16th WWE World Championship at the same event.

In February 2017, the pair faced off in a singles match on SmackDown Live, which The Leader of Cenation won. The two haven’t had a singles match in over seven years.
