Ex-WWE writer believes the new era under Triple H will have similarities to the Attitude Era (Exclusive)

According to a former WWE writer, Triple H is on the cusp of transforming the product into something akin to the Attitude Era programming.

The writer in question, Jon Rineman, also spoke about how it would differ from the Attitude Era in certain aspects.

One of the biggest news to come out in the last few months about WWE was their deal with Netflix.

Considering the massive change and more lax censorship rules on the streaming platform, many expect to see changes in the presentation of RAW on Netflix.

Rineman was of the same opinion but believed that WWE would leave out the racier content from the Attitude Era.

Speaking in an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Kevin Kellam, Rineman stated:

“I don’t think they are gonna call it the Attitude Era. I think the name they are using is the Renaissance Era. But no I think you are gonna see edgier stuff for sure. And I think, I don’t think it will be, I really hope it’s not, I don’t think it will be se*ual in nature. That would be a little strange. I saw some blowback from Liv Morgan with Dominik the other night, when she planted that big kiss on him out of nowhere […] I think anything that’s edgy in that sense, that’s racy, you are not gonna see a p*mp. You are not gonna see a po*nst*r, but I think it’s a great place for the Wyatt Sicks’ of the world.”

The former WWE writer also commented on WrestleMania 40
Jon Rineman was very appreciative of how the main event match of Night Two of WrestleMania XL between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns turned out.

Speaking with Kevin Kellam of Sportskeeda Wrestling, he stated that he was especially pleased with The Undertaker’s cameo. He was also happy that Stone Cold Steve Austin did not make an appearance, and that the veteran’s last match also remains his final appearance for the promotion, keeping his legacy untainted.

“I liked that Stone Cold kept his last match as his last appearance. I understand [that Austin’s appearance wouldn’t taint his last match], but what if you miss that Stunner and you have a GIF that goes viral? I thought that The Undertaker thing was perfect. I thought, hey, hats off to The Rock for selling it,” he said.

Cody Rhodes is still holding onto the title he won after defeating Reigns at The Show of Shows this year and it remains to be seen how long his Undisputed WWE Championship reign lasts.
