What You’ll Need

- Butter – Use unsalted butter for this sweet recipe. I promise that you won’t want salty fudge.
- Sugar – Use granulated sugar because it dissolves quickly and disperses evenly into the fudge. This way, every bite has an even level of sweetness throughout.
- Evaporated Milk – Evaporated milk is crucial in this recipe. It provides a creamy texture, concentrated flavor, and smooth consistency. You can substitute it with sweetened condensed milk and adjust the sugar to maintain the recipe’s sweetness.
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips – What’s a classic fudge without chocolate? It provides a rich flavor and ensures that the fudge sets properly. Using high-quality chocolate chips is key to achieving a delicious, decadent result. I used semi-sweet, but you can use dark chocolate if you prefer a more intense flavor.
- Marshmallow Fluff – Marshmallow fluff is essential because it creates a fluffy texture so the fudge doesn’t become dense when it sets.
- Vanilla
- Andes Mints (Optional) – Andes Mints are my favorite festive topping. They add that cooling peppermint flavor that’s perfect for the holidays. However, you can get creative and swap it according to your preference. Try toffee bits, toasted nuts, or sprinkles!

Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Use High-Quality Chocolate Chips. Opt for premium semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips to ensure a rich flavor.
- Check the Microwave Wattage. Be mindful of your microwave’s wattage, as cooking times may vary. Adjust accordingly to prevent overcooking.
- Stir Thoroughly. Stir the mixture well after each microwave interval to promote even melting and prevent scorching.
- Don’t Overheat: Be cautious not to overheat the mixture; it can cause the fudge to become grainy. Inspect the texture between each microwave interval.
- Experiment with Mix-Ins. Customize your fudge by adding chopped nuts, crushed candy canes, or flavored extracts to create unique variations.
- Parchment Paper Overhang. When lining the pan with parchment paper, leave an overhang on the sides. These “handles” will make it easier to lift the fudge out once it’s set.
- Cool Before Cutting. Allow the fudge to cool completely in the pan before cutting. It ensures clean, neat slices.
Can I Use Regular Milk Instead Of Evaporated Milk?
I recommend evaporated milk for its creaminess. Regular milk is too thin to come together in the microwave. However, you can use heavy cream in a pinch. Keep in mind that the texture and flavor may differ slightly.
