CM Punk has commented on WWE taking pro wrestling ‘back to it’s roots’ with it’s crossover with UFC and merger to form TKO.
The Endeavor acquisition of WWE was officially finalised back in September, with the two parties taking part in a merger to form the TKO Group.
CM Punk is one of many names to have competed in both WWE and UFC, and he has now commented on the crossover between the two companies.
In a video shared by TKO on Twitter, he said:
“There’s a lot of reasons why I think the crossover between UFC and WWE is important. We’re all under the TKO umbrella, but to me, what’s important about this is it brings pro wrestling back to its roots.
“I think there’s a lot of similarities, there’s a lot of parallels. At the end of the day we’re all brothers and sisters. We’re all fighters. So, it’s really exciting for me to see.”
Punk was spotted at the WWE Performance Center yesterday ahead of his upcoming return to the ring.
