Ingredients:
1 pound hot sausage (such as Owens or Jimmy Dean), room temperature
4 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, room temperature
3 cups Bisquick mix
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix the Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the room temperature sausage and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix them together until well combined.
Gradually add the Bisquick mix to the sausage and cheese mixture. It’s best to add the Bisquick a cup at a time to ensure it’s evenly incorporated. The mixture will be quite thick and sticky.
Form the Balls:
Once the mixture is well combined, roll it into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. This can be done by hand, or you can use a small cookie scoop for consistency.
Place the sausage balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Ensure they’re spaced out evenly.
Bake:
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the sausage balls for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Cool and Serve:
Once baked, remove the sausage balls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
Serve them warm as an appetizer, snack, or part of a breakfast spread.
Enjoy your sausage balls! They’re delicious on their own or can be served with dipping sauces like ranch dressing, honey mustard, or barbecue sauce for an extra flavor kick.
