A WWE veteran recently stated that despite not being the biggest fan of either Drew McIntyre or CM Punk,
their storyline has captivated his attention in recent weeks. The veteran, Dutch Mantell, explained why the booking intrigued him.
At WWE Money in the Bank, Drew won the briefcase and also cashed it in on the same night for the World Heavyweight Championship.
With Damian Priest and Seth Rollins’ match turning into a Triple Threat, all disqualification criteria were automatically removed. This allowed CM Punk to interfere, costing Drew the title.
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell commented on how much The Scottish Warrior’s plans were getting thwarted by The Second City Saint.
“The thing with this matchup, with McIntyre, I have never seen anything like it before. I mean the booking of it, him getting screwed over three times, whatever it is. And it’s a wide-open desert out there that they got room to run around in, and which I like. I mean I am not really big fans of either of these guys, but the booking of it kind of intrigues me.” [10:00 onwards]

Drew McIntyre may be facing CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam
According to recent reports, plans to pit Drew McIntyre against CM Punk in a singles match are already almost finalized for SummerSlam.
Dave Meltzer recently reported that the two could face off after months of intense feud at the upcoming PLE, although this was not set in stone at the moment.
“Right now, it is not one hundred percent as far as (CM) Punk vs. Drew (McIntyre) at SummerSlam, but I was told that it is probable. I was pretty much told that they’re pretty confident in it but they can’t go and say one hundred percent because it isn’t one hundred percent. It’s been the hope, but it’s now more than a hope, now it’s a plan.”
As of now, it remains to be seen whether their rivalry will end at WWE SummerSlam.
