25 Minutes Of Wrestlers Hilariously Breaking Character

In the world of professional wrestling, maintaining character is a critical aspect of the job.

Yet, there are moments when even the most seasoned wrestlers can’t help but break character,

much to the delight of fans. Here are some of the most memorable instances when wrestlers couldn’t hold back their laughter or smiles.

The Rock and Mankind (1999)

In early 1999, The Rock and Mankind shared an unforgettable segment where the usually sharp-tongued Rock struggled to keep his composure. During a promo, The Rock found himself laughing out loud alongside Mankind, making it a moment to remember for fans.

The Rock and Mick Foley (2000)

In 2000, Mick Foley managed to make The Rock break character again by mimicking one of The Rock’s famous catchphrases on Raw. Foley’s rendition of “It doesn’t matter how it makes you feel” was so spot-on that even The Rock had to smile.

The People’s Elbow

The People’s Elbow, a signature move by The Rock, was initially created to try and make The Undertaker break character. The first time The Rock performed this move, it was in an attempt to make The Undertaker laugh during a match.

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon (1997)

Vince McMahon’s hilarious dancing in 1997 caused the typically stoic Stone Cold Steve Austin to laugh on camera. The Chairman’s antics were too much for Austin, who cracked a smile during an in-ring interview.

Jey Uso (2022)

Leading up to Roman Reigns’ match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, Jey Uso was caught laughing while selling the effects of a crash caused by Lesnar. This wasn’t the only time Jey broke character; he frequently cracked up during his time with The Bloodline, especially when Sami Zayn was on screen.

Sami Zayn and The Bloodline (2022)

Sami Zayn was known for making his Bloodline members laugh, including the usually stone-faced Solo Sikoa. Zayn’s antics during segments with Roman Reigns and the rest of the Bloodline often resulted in unexpected laughs.

R-Truth and Brock Lesnar (2020)

R-Truth managed to make Brock Lesnar laugh during a segment on Raw before the 2020 Royal Rumble. Truth’s unexpected and humorous declaration of his entry into the Rumble was met with laughter from Lesnar and the audience alike.

John Cena and Vickie Guerrero

John Cena had a memorable moment where he couldn’t stop laughing due to the crowd’s reaction to Vickie Guerrero. The audience’s refusal to let Guerrero speak led to Cena and even Guerrero herself breaking character.

Chris Jericho and The List of Jericho (2016)

Chris Jericho’s “List of Jericho” segments were legendary for making both wrestlers and fans laugh. Jericho’s ability to deliver humorous insults and put people “on the list” resulted in many character-breaking moments.

Gene Okerlund and Dr. D David Schultz

The legendary interviewer Gene Okerlund often found himself struggling to keep a straight face. One notable instance was during an interview with Dr. D David Schultz, whose over-the-top promo left Okerlund laughing.

Randy Orton and The New Day (2015)

Randy Orton’s reaction to The New Day poking fun at the numerous factions he had been part of was priceless. The New Day’s ability to make fellow wrestlers laugh, including Orton, is well-documented.

The Undertaker and Goldust

Even the Undertaker, known for his unwavering character, couldn’t help but laugh during a segment with Goldust. Goldust’s comedic antics and rendition of the spinneroonie brought out a rare laugh from the Deadman.

These moments are a testament to the lighter side of wrestling, showing that even in the heat of competition, there’s always room for a bit of humor. Fans cherish these instances when their favorite wrestlers reveal their human side, making the world of wrestling even more entertaining.
